PECO Connect is not your ordinary associate engagement initiative - it is a catalyst for excitement, growth, and innovation that aims to strengthen the bonds between associates by tapping into shared interests! By creating an environment that encourages both personal and professional growth outside of the workplace, we aim to attract a diverse audience and ensure our associates feel connected and fulfilled in their workplace. Connect engagement events have been incredibly successful in bringing associates together by fostering a sense of community within the organization.

What do you hope associates gain from participating in PECO Connect?
I hope that associates are able to build a stronger network at PECO by understanding better everyone’s identity beyond the spreadsheets and work, and to help foster an environment that builds connections that enrich the people of PECO on a professional and personal level. I believe by participating in the PECO Connect Events individuals can bond over common interests and help build a sense of community and belonging.

What is your favorite PECO Connect activity and why?
This is a tough one for me. The two types of events I like are team building, where we work together to create something, and competitive events. A great team building event was Lisa Sollmann’s Cooking Class at the Learning Kitchen. When I heard the rave reviews, all the fun that everyone had at that event, and the smell of the delicious food upon their return to the office I had to try it myself and planned a date night with my wife. As for the competitive side, the Go Karting with Gary Bailey was my favorite event. It was a blast to participate in the races and try to improve each lap, even if I found out I will never, ever, beat Paxton St Clair or Bill Lindsay.

What do you hope associates gain from participating in PECO Connect?
I hope participants broaden their network of new relationships and deepen their connections with existing relationships.

What is your favorite PECO Connect activity and why?
Any activity that energizes the group (i.e. go karts, walks, being outdoors, pickleball, rock climbing, etc.). I think that when people are up and moving, it facilitates more bonding, conversation, and authenticity, particularly if the activity is challenging.

What do you hope associates gain from participating in PECO Connect?
I hope PECO Connect helps associates build stronger connections with each other beyond work. By participating in events, associates can bond over shared interests and have fun together, enriching both their professional and personal lives.

What is your favorite PECO Connect activity and why?
Rock climbing quickly became my favorite event. Initially, it was a bit nerve-wracking, but I soon bonded with fellow climbers who shared my apprehension. I also connected with associates who genuinely loved the sport. Now, I’m a regular participant in rock climbing activities and am very excited for my first outdoor climbing adventure with the friends I made at PECO through a Connect event.

What do you hope associates gain from participating in PECO Connect?
PECO Connect provides associates with the opportunity to network in small groups, all centered around shared interests. Our hope is that by participating in these events, it will cultivate genuine connections among peers, creating a more enriched and fulfilling personal and professional network at PECO.

What is your favorite PECO Connect activity and why?
I really enjoyed the rock climbing event! I’m terrified of heights, but curiosity got the best of me, and I signed up for the first-ever event. Turns out, I wasn’t alone in my wall-clinging anxiety. However, throughout the afternoon, we warmed up to it, and now I have developed a genuine appreciation for rock climbing, something I never saw coming. There was no better way to bond with my peers than in a slightly high-stress environment!

A chance to meet new PECO associates and grow their PECO network in a fun environment.

What is your favorite PECO Connect activity and why?
Loveland Bike Trail ride with Tony H. It was local, outdoors, provided some exercise and essentially free (if you own a bike)!

What is your favorite PECO Connect activity and why?
My favorite PECO Connect activity was the bourbon distillery tour. It was an afternoon filled with chances to learn about bourbon and getting to know people from different departments! Interactive events like this are a great way to get to know people you don’t work with on a daily basis.

What do you hope associates gain from participating in PECO Connect?
I hope that associates who participate in PECO Connect activities are able to strengthen their teamwork, communication, and camaraderie. By participating in various activities, I hope they develop deeper connections with their colleagues and feel a stronger sense of belonging within the company. Along with it all, I hope everyone has a great time during the diverse activities that are put together!

What is your favorite PECO Connect activity and why?
My favorite PECO Connect activity was the Loveland Bike Trail and Brewery Hop from last summer. It provided a perfect blend of outdoor adventure and socializing. Biking along the trail allowed us to unwind and enjoy the warm weather, while the Brewery Hop created a fun environment for bonding with colleagues outside of work. Overall, it was a memorable experience that embodied the spirit of PECO Connect.
